How much is a boiler service?
Boiler servicing starts from £90 + VAT, with parts extra. If anything needs replacing or repairing, you are given a fixed price before any work is carried out.
How long does a boiler service take?
A standard annual service is a short visit. If the boiler needs more attention than the service itself, we will tell you what is involved and price it separately before continuing.
How often should a boiler be serviced?
Once a year. Most manufacturer warranties require an annual service with a record of it, and it is the simplest way to avoid a mid-winter breakdown.
Will a service keep my boiler warranty valid?
Yes, that is one of its main purposes. Warranties of 5 to 12 years generally require the boiler to be serviced annually, and we record the service for you.
What is checked during the service?
Gas rate and operating pressures, component condition and cleaning as the manufacturer specifies, combustion and flue, condensate, seals and safety devices, system pressure and expansion vessel, and the controls.
Do you service boilers you did not install?
Yes. We service all boiler brands running on natural gas, regardless of who fitted them.
Do you service LPG boilers?
No. We work on natural gas only.
When is the best time of year to book?
Autumn, before the heating goes under full load. Any developing fault is then found while the house is still warm and there is time to put it right.
Is there a call-out fee on top of the service price?
No. There is no call-out fee and no hourly rate on any of our work.
Can you service the boiler and quote for other work at the same visit?
Yes. If you are thinking about radiators, a cylinder, underfloor heating or a bathroom, mention it when you book and we can look while we are there. Quotes are always free.
