What a boiler installation with us actually involves
We fit all boiler brands on natural gas: combination boilers, system boilers and conventional boilers, whether you are replacing like for like, changing boiler type, or moving the boiler to a different part of the house. The survey comes first, because the right boiler for your home depends on how many bathrooms you run, your incoming water pressure and flow, the condition of the existing pipework and where the flue can legally terminate.
Neil and his son Sam carry out the work themselves. That matters on a boiler swap more than most jobs, because the parts that go wrong later are rarely the boiler itself: they are undersized gas supply pipe, a system that was never properly flushed, a condensate run that freezes in January, or controls wired in a way nobody can explain two winters later.
The installation includes removing the old appliance, upgrading the gas supply where the new boiler needs it, fitting a system filter, flushing and treating the system, fitting and setting up your controls, commissioning the boiler to the manufacturer's checklist and registering the warranty. You are left with a working system, the paperwork and a clean house.

Choosing the right boiler for your home
Most of the decisions on a boiler installation are made before anything is fitted. These are the ones that make the difference to how the system performs afterwards.
Combi, system or conventional
A combi boiler heats water on demand with no cylinder, which suits homes with one bathroom and good incoming pressure and flow. A system boiler works with a hot water cylinder and handles simultaneous demand far better, which is usually the right answer for two or more bathrooms. A conventional boiler keeps the tank in the loft and the cylinder in the airing cupboard, and is sometimes the sensible choice in older properties.
We measure your incoming water pressure and flow rate at the survey rather than assuming. Changing type is entirely possible, but it affects pipework, controls and the space you have, so it belongs in the quote rather than being discovered on installation day.
Gas supply, flue and condensate
A modern boiler may need a larger gas supply pipe than the appliance it replaces. The flue has to terminate in a permitted position with the right clearances from windows, doors and boundaries, and the condensate has to discharge somewhere that will not freeze or back up.
These three items are where most compliance problems and winter breakdowns come from, so they are surveyed properly and included in the fixed price rather than treated as an extra.
Controls, zoning and running cost
The boiler is only half the system. Programmers, room thermostats, thermostatic radiator valves and weather or load compensation determine how much gas you actually burn.
We set the controls up with you rather than leaving them on a factory default, so the house heats when you want it to and the boiler is not firing into rooms nobody is using.
Boilers, cylinders and bathrooms together
If a boiler replacement is part of a larger project, it is usually cheaper and less disruptive to do it alongside the rest. We also fit hot water cylinders, full central heating systems, underfloor heating and complete bathrooms.

Will you flush the system before fitting the new boiler?
Yes. The system is cleaned and treated and a system filter is fitted as part of the installation. Debris left in old pipework is one of the main causes of premature failure in a new boiler.
Can I change from a conventional boiler to a combi?
Often, yes, but it depends on your incoming water pressure and flow and how many bathrooms you run. We measure both at the survey and tell you honestly if a system boiler with a cylinder would serve the house better.
Do you charge a call-out fee for the survey?
No. There is no call-out fee and no hourly rate. Quotes are free and fixed, and the price you agree is the price you pay.
